African swine fever (ASFV) (P72 gene, environmental samples) Nucleic Acid Test Kit (Lyophilized)

This is a PCR nucleic acid detection reagent kit used to detect African swine fever (ASFV) (P72 gene, environmental samples). Real-time PCR technology has the characteristics of fast, sensitive, highly specific and high accuracy. Utilizing this technology and the FLASHTEST PCR reagent kit, it can accurately diagnose whether pigs carry African swine fever (ASFV) (P72 gene, environmental samples).

African Swine Fever (ASFV) is a highly contagious and lethal viral disease that poses a significant threat to the global swine industry. The ASFV (P72 gene, environmental samples) nucleic acid detection reagent is designed specifically for the P72 gene of ASFV, enabling the precise detection of ASFV nucleic acid in environmental samples. The P72 gene, which encodes the major capsid protein of ASFV, is highly conserved and serves as an ideal target for detection.
This detection reagent often relies on real - time fluorescence quantitative PCR technology. Specific primers bind to the P72 gene of ASFV that may exist in environmental samples. During the PCR amplification process, the fluorescence signal intensifies as DNA replicates. By continuously monitoring the fluorescence signal, the presence and quantity of ASFV nucleic acid in the sample can be determined. Additionally, Loop - Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) technology is also applied in such reagents. It allows for nucleic acid amplification under isothermal conditions, with simple operation. The results can be observed by the naked eye or detected with simple instruments, making it suitable for rapid on - site detection at the grassroots level.

Clinical Applications

  1. Biosecurity Monitoring in Swine Farms:Regularly test environmental samples in swine farms, including pig houses, feed troughs, water dispensers, and transport vehicles. Based on the test results, potential ASFV contamination risks can be identified in a timely manner. If a positive result is detected, targeted disinfection and isolation measures can be immediately implemented to prevent the virus from spreading to the pig population and ensure the biosecurity of the swine farm. For example, samples from the floors and walls of pig houses are collected and tested weekly. Once a positive sample is found, the area is thoroughly disinfected, and the contaminated bedding is replaced.

  2. Epidemic Tracing and Prevention:When an African Swine Fever epidemic occurs, extensively test environmental samples in the epidemic - affected area and its surroundings to trace the virus transmission route. By analyzing the test results of different environmental samples, the spread range and contamination level of the virus in the environment can be determined, providing a basis for formulating scientific and effective prevention and control strategies. For instance, within a radius of 5 kilometers around the epidemic - affected area, environmental samples such as river water, soil, and wildlife habitats are collected to determine whether the virus spreads through water sources, vector organisms, etc.

  3. Monitoring in Transportation and Trading Links:Test environmental samples in key links such as live pig transport vehicles and live pig trading markets. Sampling and testing transport vehicles before and after loading live pigs, as well as regularly in trading markets, can effectively prevent the spread of the virus during transportation and trading. Once a positive sample is detected, the vehicle and the market are comprehensively disinfected, and strict inspections and controls are carried out on the relevant live pigs.

  4. Safety Assessment of Feed and Water Sources:Test environmental samples of feed raw materials, processing sites, and water sources in swine farms to ensure that the feed and water sources are not contaminated by ASFV. If a positive result is detected in the feed or water source, the raw materials are promptly replaced, the water source is purified, and the relevant production equipment is disinfected to avoid the infection of the pig population due to the intake of contaminated feed and water.
