Leishmania is a protozoan parasite that parasitizes in canines (mainly dogs). It mainly parasitizes in the macrophages of dogs and is transmitted by sandflies. Infected dogs may present various symptoms, including skin lesions such as hair loss, skin ulcers, and nodules. There will also be systemic symptoms such as weight loss, anemia, splenomegaly, and lymphadenopathy. The severity of the disease varies depending on the individual and the degree of infection. Chronic infection may last for months or even years, gradually damaging the dog's immune system and various organs of the body.

Clinical Application:

· Disease Diagnosis:
For dogs with suspected Leishmania infection symptoms such as abnormal skin and emaciation, this kit can quickly and accurately detect whether there is Leishmania nucleic acid in the dog's body. This helps veterinarians diagnose the disease in time and avoid delaying treatment due to misdiagnosis. For example, some skin diseases may be similar to other skin diseases. Through detection, it can be distinguished whether it is caused by Leishmania infection.

· Disease Monitoring:
In areas where Leishmania is prevalent, this kit can be used for large-scale screening of dog populations. Dogs can be regularly tested, especially high-risk groups such as outdoor dogs and stray dogs, to detect potentially infected dogs in time. This is very important for controlling the spread of the disease and being able to take measures at the early stage of infection to prevent the expansion of the epidemic.
