Ehrlichia is a type of Gram - negative bacteria, which are coccobacillary or oval in shape and are obligate intracellular parasites. They are mainly transmitted by arthropods such as ticks. Ehrlichia can infect humans and various animals, causing symptoms such as fever, anemia, and thrombocytopenia. In severe cases, it can affect the functions of multiple organs. It poses certain threats to both animal husbandry and public health.

Clinical Application:

· Early and Precise Diagnosis:
After an animal is infected with Ehrlichia, the symptoms may be unobvious or atypical in the early stage of the disease, and it is easy to be confused with other diseases. Veterinary nucleic acid detection reagents can accurately determine whether an animal is infected with Ehrlichia in the early stage of infection by detecting the nucleic acid of Ehrlichia in animal samples (such as blood, tissues, etc.), achieving early diagnosis and gaining time for timely treatment. For example, in the early stage of infection in pet dogs, there may only be symptoms such as listlessness and mild fever. Using a nucleic acid detection reagent can quickly determine whether it is an Ehrlichia infection.

When animals show symptoms such as fever, anemia, and thrombocytopenia, it may be caused by the infection of multiple pathogens. Nucleic acid detection reagents can specifically detect Ehrlichia and distinguish it from other pathogens that may cause similar symptoms, such as Babesia and Rickettsia. This helps veterinarians accurately determine the cause of the disease and develop targeted treatment plans.

· Pathogen Research:
By using nucleic acid detection reagents to test and analyze a large number of animal samples infected with Ehrlichia, in - depth research can be carried out on the biological characteristics of Ehrlichia, such as its gene structure, genetic variation, and evolutionary laws. This provides basic data for further understanding the pathogenic mechanism of this pathogen.
